August Update

Over the last months it might have looked quiet due to outstanding communication in online spaces. Nevertheless, nothing is less true. We are celebrating many evolvements that surfaced through sensing and patiently listening to what our  community (greater-than-human) world was telling us about the next steps. From this, the following actions were taken:

Weaving with online spaces:

• We established a new fiscal hosting relationship with Abundant Earth Foundation.

• We became part of the BioFi Community of Practice because we found out that the framework they offer for bioregional strategies and finance facilities explains what has been /is evolving here in the bioregion.

• We became a local hub of the Bloom Network that promotes regenerative communities by connecting local projects with each other and people with skill sets that want to contribute to these projects. 

• We became part of The Commons Fund, a community of practice that is supporting projects around the world to create and fund bioregional teams with basic incomes.

On the ground bioregional impact: 

• The local community members from all over the Osa are currently coming together in “encuentras comunitaria” to define our bioregional strategy. 

• We’ve finished the first community-based participatory funding round that can serve as the basis for a grassroots driven bioregional fund to become formalised in an ongoing funding mechanism.

• The local community hub…Los Higuerones is growing its collaboration with local community members and organizations
